It takes some doing to give a song absolutely everything it needs in less than two minutes of music, but in the second-to-last song on Atlanta band Manchester Orchestra's first full-length release, Andy Hull uses the disappearing seconds to lead us somewhere both achingly personal and startlingly simple, easily capable of giving frontmen who have made this style their trademark - such as Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Dallas Green (a.k.a. City and Colour) - a good run for their hard-earned money. Listen with every bone in your body.
